So what’s so special about this place? It shows you spectacular large scale faithful reconstructions of important buildings, temples and statuary that represent all of Thailand. You can roam around the 400 acres by foot, bicycle, golf cart or private car. I recommend that you do not attempt to walk the park.

Muang Boran isn’t crowded together in too small a space. You will find plenty of grassy areas, lakes and trees .. rest areas to sit and contemplate .. reasonably priced and tasty Thai food and refreshments.
Where else will you be able to see the Grand Palace, Phimai Sanctuary, the famous Ayuttaya, the Phanom Rung Sanctuary, an old Thai village, a depiction of the royal barge procession, exquisite architecture and grazing water buffalo .. all on a single outing? It’s a great family outing.
More importantly, you can get a feel for Thailand and what is out there to explore further.
Although each display has an english language description board, I recommend that you buy the book available at the entry pavilion. It has a map layout of the park and descriptions of each structure and garden.
The statuary is especially nice. One represents a battle .. warriors mounted on war elephants. Others depict popular legends from the Ramayana.
The Ancient City is so fascinating that you may decide that one day is not enough. I went once .. I’ll visit again in the near future.
